Attrition RateThis is a unique law school. We lose very few students to academic attrition at the end of the first year. In fact, of the 183 students who entered in Fall 2008, we lost just two. (Source: ABA-LSAC Official Guide to ABA-Approved Law Schools, 2010 Edition). Why? We enroll the right bright students, serious, achievement-oriented people, who want to be a part of a community that's friendly and down-to-earth. If you can simultaneously talk, for example, PAC-10 sports and sustainable business practices, you'll fit right in. If you're involved in organizing your community and have also organized a Rock Band party at your apartment, you're also a good fit for Oregon. If you "Race for the Cure" each year and also just run for fun each week, you'll find a lot of like-minded people at Oregon. The University of Oregon School of Law is the ideal starting line to a great professional career. Bar Passage RateHere's another important stat. The University of Oregon has long been known for making and breaking track records, many of them at historic Hayward Field, directly across the street from the William W. Knight Law Center. The law school has a track record of of its own. For 10 of the last 11 years, graduates of the University of Oregon School of Law have passed the Oregon state bar examination at a rate that has met or exceeded the state average. In 2009, the bar pass rate for the University of Oregon School of Law was 84%. The state average was 77%. It's worth running the race at the University of Oregon School of Law. |
